According to Lotteriinspektionen proposal, Svenska Spel, Swedish state gambling operator, will retain its monopoly on land-based casinos and slot machines. Lottery sector will remain unavailable for foreign gambling operators.

It’s worth mentioning that there is a number of gambling operators with Swedish roots. Among them are Betsson, the Kindred Group and Mr Green who won’t obviously miss the chance to expand their services to their local market. Moreover, it’s very likely that other major gambling operators will apply for licenses.
